About
I grew up on the creek that feeds this lake.
Otter Creek, in Nashville, Tennessee. I walked it for miles as a boy. It was social, it was solitude, it was enlightenment, it was adventure. That creek runs down into Radnor Lake, and Radnor is where you’ll find me now.
I found photography a few years later, and it was one of the only things that could get me off the computer. The computer won. I studied computer engineering and spent a decade building software, though I never quite put the camera down. During my last startup I became obsessed with a clip-on macro lens and shot flowers with it all over the West Coast.
In 2025, I gave myself a year to discover my next obsession. It was harder than that sounds: a lot of exploration, a lot of pivots, no structure to hold onto. But at some point, a camera ended up in my hands. Four months later, the mega zoom lens you see here.
I took it to Radnor on June 4th, 2026, and I’ve been back nearly every morning since. Up at 4:30am, three Morning Pages in longhand, then out to the park for whatever I find beautiful, from herons and owls down to the small worlds the naked eye can’t see. After a year without a shape, this quickly became a foundation.
At the park, I say good morning to almost everyone I pass, and that’s turned out to matter as much as the photographs. Every morning, I meet someone new, see someone familiar, and come back with something I’m glad I made. I’m trying to be open to where this takes me, as long as I can keep creating and sharing beautiful things with others.
